We stayed six weeks in room 1911, a privately owned condo we booked. The Rental/Room: The price was exceptional - $1000 less than a fellow traveler paid for a smaller unit. The room was spacious, equipped with enough cooking utensils and appliances for full meals and very comfortable. The view was fantastic - overlooking the Ala Wai and the city. We could watch the fireworks from our lanai every friday night! Only downside: No internet in the room.

The Royal Garden: With one side along the Ala Wai, the noise was significantly less than many other units in the area. Well worth the 5 minute walk to the beach. All you can eat $10 breakfast buffet was fantastic. Staff was friendly, but a bit strict with the condo rules. Beautiful lobby, practically empty pool, sauna, BBQ grill area near the pool and WIFI in the lobby. Only downside - the pool area closed at 7pm.
